The Dolphin
60x80 cm

On the morning of the summer solstice, when the sea and sky were both the same shade of endless blue, a golden dolphin leapt from the ocean as if reaching for the sun itself. She had lived a thousand years beneath the waves, her skin slowly turning from silver to gold with each passing century, absorbing the warmth of every sunrise she had ever witnessed. At the peak of her leap, suspended between two worlds, she could see everything — the deep cold darkness below and the warm, infinite light above. As she arched back toward the water, her tail began to unravel into ribbons of sea foam and current, returning piece by piece to the ocean that had made her. And when she slipped beneath the surface, the sea glowed golden for just a moment, as if remembering her warmth.
